About the Service FAQ

1) What are the DPH WebConnect or MyDesktop Remote Access with DUO websites?

The DPH MyDesktop or WebConnect Remote Access Websites allow you to log in remotely to the DPH Web Application Portal in order to access electronic medical records using DUO, also known as Two-Factor Authenticaion.

There are different web addresses to the DPH WebConnect login for UCSF employees:

Bookmark the page with this specific address. For more information on how to verify the web address of your bookmark, refer to this link: How do I edit a bookmark in Internet Explorer?

2) What is Two-Factor-Authentication or DUO?

Two-Factor-Authentication (TFA) is an extra layer of security that requires not only your Username and Password, but also a unique piece of information (6 or 8 Digit number). Users obtain the second factor for authentication from the DUO system.  Providing a second level of authentication will minimize the risk of a breach to our systems.  New DPH Remote Access users as of June 2016 will no longer be assigned physical Entrust tokens, but will use the new DUO system.  For instructions on how to enroll and use DUO please see the guides on how to enroll.

3) What are the benefits of using the DPH WebConnect or MyDesktop Remote Access with DUO?

You can remotely access the DPH resources such as Invision LCR, E-ClinicalWorks, IMPAX Result Viewer, PulseCheck, and other medical record applications. These applications are accessible from any offsite location with an Internet connection.

4) What are the support hours for the DPH WebConnect or MyDesktop Remote Access with DUO?

Any unresolved remote access issues will be addressed during regular business hours. Therefore, we encourage you to test your remote access connection ahead of time.
